Svenny’s Happy Birthday Pup Cake “Dogs deserve to party too!”

This recipe was originally developed for the first doggie birthday party I ever went to. What a hoot! I make it all the time. Give it a try and use organic ingredients when possible.

Servings: 1 large 9x13” cake pan.

Yields: 8 cups, enough treats for 8 large or 16 small dogs.

Ingredients:

1 cup, organic pumpkin (freeze the remaining cup)

2 egg yolks

2 tablespoons flax meal

2 pounds, lean, organic, ground chicken or beef

1 cup, cooked, organic quinoa

1 cup, gluten-free oats (can substitute GF flour, or drained and rinsed canned garbanzo beans)

Optional Topping: ½ cup, plain, organic, goat’s milk yogurt

Instructions:

Prepare ingredients as suggested above. Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a stand mixer with paddle attachment, add all ingredients and mix on low speed until uniformly combined.

Transfer to your cake pan or casserole dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or an internal temperature of 160 degrees using a meat thermometer.

Cool, then store in refrigerator for up to one week or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

When ready to serve, transfer to a platter, or slice and plate individual portions.

Top with optional yogurt

Serve as desired
