Pepper’s Mini Mutt Balls
This is a large batch recipe. It is designed for a pair of large breed littermates and or at a canine birthday party. However, I named them after a small, but mighty little dog named Pepper. She really is a Rockstar.
Ingredients:
2 lbs. lean, organic ground chicken or beef (or natural, antibiotic & hormone free)
1 cup cooked, organic, sprouted, short grain brown rice or quinoa
½ cup grated summer squash or zucchini
½ cup grated broccoli
½ cup grated green beans
½ cup grated carrots
½ cup grated, squeezed celery
½ giant handful chopped kale
½ bunch, chopped parsley leaves
¼ cup coconut oil
2 tablespoons tamari
1 teaspoon garlic
½ teaspoon turmeric
Instructions:
Prepare ingredients as suggested above. Preheat oven to 350°F.
Using food processor, finely grate veggies and strain.
In a stand mixer, combine all ingredients.
Using a small scoop: Scoop 2 inch size balls directly on a baking pan or pans.
Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool.
Serve as desired
Store in airtight container and refrigerate up to 5 days or place in freezer bags for up to 6 weeks.
Bone appetite!
Note: For Pup Cakes, scoop directly into lightly clean-oil sprayed oil muffin tins. Bake in preheated oven, 350°F for 20-25 minutes.
